Republic Of Ghana High Commission Toronto, Canada Consular Section   Guidelines For Application of Dual Citizenship
	How To Apply:
	Applicants are required to complete a Dual Citizenship Application  Form(Form 10) at a cost of CDN$100.00. An additional sum of CDN$20.00 will be required for issuance of the certificate.  Form 10 is obtainable from the Ghana High Commission in Ottawa or the Consular General Of Toronto.
	Attachments of Application Form(Evidence of Ghanaian Nationality) Prerequisite:
	1.  Birth Certificate and/or Passport 2.  Evidence of Parents' Nationality - Passport, Voters ID Card, Birth  Certificate 3.  Six (6) passport sized photographs 4.  Names, addresses and telephone numbers of two relatives currently living in Ghana 5.  $120.00  - Application fees of $100.00  + Issuance fees of $20.00 NB: A Dual Citizenship Holder 1- Shall be issued with a Ghanaian passport or travel document 2- Shall be permitted to remain in Ghana without limitation provided the holder entered Ghana on a Ghanaian passport 3- Shall not be permitted to use two passports interchangeably to deceive any Immigration Officer. Any dual citizen who does so, will be considered to have committed a criminal offence and will be liable from a summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 250 penalty units or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding one year or both. No citizen of Ghana shall qualify to be appointed as a holder of any office specified in the section below if he/she holds the citizenship of any other country in addition to his citizenship of Ghana: 1- Chief Justice or Justices of the Supreme Court 2- Ambassador or High Commissioner 3- Secretary to a Cabinet 4- Chief of Defense Staff 5- Inspector General of the Police Forces/Services 6- Commissioner of Customs, Excise and Preventive Services 7- Director of Immigration Services 8- Commissioner of Value Added Tax Services 9- Director General of Prison Services 10- Chief Fire Officer 11- Chief Director of a Government Ministry 12- A rank of at least a Colonel in the Army or it's equivalent in the other security services 13- Any other public office that the Ministry of interior may by legislative instrument prescribe.
